PanScan Freedom enables ultra low noise <1 pm imaging performance, with the cryostat running. Even noisy environments do not degrade performance, which was proven running the PanScan  on the exhibition floor during AVS 2014.

PanScan Freedom is an innovative new closed-cycle cryogen-free system for stable low temperature performance, unprecedented low drift, exceptional spectroscopy performance, and atomic resolution in a surprisingly compact, simple, and affordable package. The Indium doped Bismuth Selenide sample*, showed both a high-level of isolation from the vibration of the Closed-Cycle Cryostat as well as the environment of the hall, yielding excellent performance with the noise level below 1 pm. The goal of a helium-free STM has been an elusive dream for the many researchers unable to secure a steady supply of affordable liquid helium.

The advantages are clear: lowest noise, lowest drift, superb STS, ultimate convenience, experimental flexibility, and increased productivity. All this while eliminating the cost of budget-busting liquid helium.
